During the 1960s and early 70s, folk music played a dominant part in New Zealand's musical heritage.This collection salutes the early pioneers of kiwi folk and includes many examples of traditional folk, pop crossover and even a little bluegrass. Artists included on this album include The Convairs, Lynne Pike, The Newfolks, The Tunespinners, The Greenstones and more. Virtually all the artists appearing on this album recorded their own shows for radio and at one time or another appeared or were regulars on folk music TV shows such as Folk Tonight and There's A Meeting Here Tonight.10 page booklet is full of information and pictures.
