Connan & the MockasinsUuu it's Teasy

Out of print used item.Light wear to digipak sleeve, disc excellent condition

Connan Hosford [guitars & vocals], Seamus Ebbs [drums] & Ross Walker [upright bass] come flying out of Wellington with a groove-ridden blend of '60s psychedelic guitar riffs, slowed down bluesy rhythms & innocent, childlike vocals. With a sold out EP under their belt, a steadily growing public awareness through strong publicity & a fierce live following, the boys have carved their name with capital letters into the burgeoning NZ music scene. Their exquisite six track mini-album 'Uuu it's easy' is one of the more highly anticipated local recordings to be released this year & it does not disappoint. Connan & The Mockasins' sound is blues inflected rock, but the songs are free of the rigid structures normally associated with those genres. Coming on like some trippy free jam ~ without sounding self-indulgent ~ their songs possess a vitality and energy that is lacking in much modern music.Lead "single" 'Sneaky Sneaky Dogfriend' has become an unexpected indie radio hit ,sounding like a schoolyard singalong crossed with Cream. In the space of 2yrs they have played support shows for The Shins, The Rogers Sisters, The Datsuns, played on Top Of The Pops & travelled the country numerous times to spread the music. The group have been described by local reviewers as having "passion & honesty in spades", & with Connans slightly odd falsetto vocals combined with his Hendrix-styled guitar god poses, the group captures a strange mix of innocence & psychedelia that you just shouldn't miss.
