'Isolation Loops' is the debut album from fast-rising indie pop recluse Bachelorette. the solo recording project of Annabel Alpers. This new 11-track album captures the mood of staring out across the expansive Canterbury plains & at the scattering of stars in the night sky. The cold electro keyboards of the city meet psychedelic-folk - the result is as melodic & catchy as any pop song, though somehow more ethereal, more difficult to pin down. Annabel has played a number of successful support slots with artists such as Don McGlashan, SJD,Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, David Kilgour, Luke Buda & The Ruby Suns. During the past year, she has toured NZ repeatedly & has built a strong live following. During the autumn of 2006, Bachelorette abandoned the stress of the Auckland scene & returned to her hometown of Christchurch. She took residence in a dilapidated old shack [built by her great grandfather] in a sparsely populated sector of the Canterbury Plains - and began work on Isolation Loops. All the vocals & instruments on the album were laid down by Alpers, except for some tape noise, live drums & 12-string .
