Tama Waipara began his vocal career when a head injury interrupted his clarinet studies at the Manhatten School of Music in New York.He released his debut Triumph of Time in 2004 and followed this with highly successful live shows in the US & Europe.
His 2009 album Sir Plus & The Requirements is based on a mixture of 1950s pop and 1970s soul.
Imagine being left on an island with Prince Tui Teka, Kid Creole and Burt Bacharach and you go some way to entering the world of 'Sir Plus & The Requirements'.
