Gary Daverne is a New Zealand Classical Music icon. Since 1975 he has held the position of Musical Director /Conductor of the Auckland Symphony Orchestra. Gary is New Zealand's most prolific and successful composer and arranger of music for the accordion, although he does not play the accordion. Featured on this cd is his Orchestral Music in which the Accordion features heavily.Performed by the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, this recording features his epic work Gallipoli composed in memory of the World War I battle.
