'Buffalo' is The Phoenix Foundation's fourth album and follows on from the band's 2007 gold album 'Happy Ending', which received huge critical acclaim in New Zealand and rave reviews in the UK after its release there late 2009. Initially recorded at the band's practice room The Wellington Car Club (which they somehow manage to share with a group of car enthusiasts!), 'Buffalo' was eventually finished with producer Lee Prebble at The Surgery in Newtown, with the help of Brett Stanton.
A combination of the avant-garde experiments of earlier albums 'Pegasus' and 'Horsepower' and the kaleidoscopic pop of 'Happy Ending', 'Buffalo' pushes boundaries in a way that marks a new chapter in the band's development, and is irrefutable proof that they are creating the music of the present for the future.
