Zaine Griff (aka Glenn Mikkelson) was born and raised in Auckland New Zealand, and was the bassist in one of the later versions of the seminal rock group The Human Instinct. He later moved to England in the 1970s, where he continued with his artistic and musical career, becoming a solo artist and a cult pop/new wave figure of the 1980s. He worked with Lindsay Kemp (at the same time as Kate Bush) The Kinks, David Bowie and Hans Zimmer, his debut 1980 album Ashes and Diamonds was produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie). After two successful albums - Ashes and Diamonds (1980 debut ,also available) and Figvres (1982) Griff returned to New Zealand in 1984.
