'Our World' Is the new album (released August 2022) of original songs from one of New Zealand's premier singer/songwriters - Shade Smith.
Shade Smith has had a long and illustrious career which started with The Surfires summer of 1967 hit, 'I Can't Wait For Summertime'.
During the 70's Shade wrote three of the biggest local hits of that decade, 'L'amour est l'enfant de la Liberte' and 'Holy Morning' for his group The Rumour and 'Sunshine Through A Prism' for Suzanne. Further testament to Shade's songwriting prowess occurred in 1978 when iconic USA band 'The Left Banke' of 'Walk Away Renee' and 'Pretty Ballerina' fame chose Shade's song 'Queen Of Paradise' as a single which became the groups only non original recording during their long career.
Shade Smith, the song-smith, continues to write new songs for this, his second solo album release 'Our World'.
Shade reprises his big selling hit 'L'amour est l'enfant de la Liberte' with guest vocals by Kate Dzimati. Also featured
are two tracks written with John Reynolds ('Every Line I Write' and 'My Lady Loves the Rain') from the 1996 Rainbow Warrior musical. Shade returned to live in the Waikato six years ago where the album was completed in his Waihi studio with basic tracks being recorded in several Auckland studios including Stebbings where he started his career.
