June 2024 release celebrating the 60th Anniversary of The Beatles Tour Of New Zealand. ‘LET ME TAKE YOU DOWN...UNDER’ Vol 2 is another celebration of Kiwi artists performing the songs of The Beatles. Contrasting interpretations run rampant on this exciting 25 track collection which features many of our top artists from the last 60 years either playing note for note renditions of Beatles songs or completely dismantling the songs before re assembling them in their own style. Eddie Rayner fires up the proceedings, as leader of ‘The Eddie Rayner Project’ and his band ‘The Conrays’. Eliza Keil punches her way through a brass driven version of ‘Got To Get You Into My Life’. If funk is your ‘thang’ then that department is handled by Golden Harvest with their 1976 version of ‘Come Together’. Matthew Bannister (ex Sneaky Feelings) aka ‘One Man Bannister’ contributes his version of ‘I’m Only Sleeping’ from his acclaimed ‘Rubber Solo’ album. One of the more interesting tracks is ‘The Harbour Lites’ UK recorded version of ‘Run For Your Life’ which features future Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore with whizz kid producer/ engineer Mark Wirtz (of Teenage Opera fame). Many stalwarts of the New Zealand music industry appear on this collection including Colin MacRae, Peter Kearns, Ray Woolf, Brendan Dugan, Peter Posa and Dinah Lee among others.
