Ghost Club has returned with a second album of crafted wonder entitled 'Suicide Train'. The new album was recorded in one day in the basement of a derelict Victorian pub in Hackney, North London, capturing the immediacy and energy of the band's live performance. The new songs (nine tracks in total) demonstrate the Ghost Club's progression since 2001, with the songs & cover artwork emerging from Mitchell's dark subconscious. Tracks like 'Mother London', 'Subterranean' and 'Darkest Light' evoke the dark side of London town, not often seen in the tourist brochures... Ghost Club were originally formed in 1996 as an offshoot of the popular Flying Nun band, the 3Ds.In January 1996 3Ds members David Mitchell and Denise Roughan recorded 2 songs released by Flying Nun as an acoustic 7" single (FN356), under the moniker 'The Ghost Club'. Denise & David moved from Dunedin, New Zealand to London in 1997, and added another member, Jim Abbott to complete the band.
