Out of Print 2 cd soundtrack taken from superb Television series. Give it a Whirl was a local television series that took an in-depth look at New Zealand rock 'n roll stories, from the fledgling sounds of the 1950s to today's international music acts. The six-part series traces the evolution of our popular music - from the bodgies and widgies of the '50s, through the mods, the hippies, the punks, right up to the hip hop kids of the 21st century. No other country could have produced Split Enz, the Exponents, OMC, Supergroove, Prince Tui Teka, Shona Laing or Dave Dobbyn. So how did it all come about? Perhaps it was a result of that infamous 'kiwi' can-do attitude and love of socializing with music that encouraged so many to Give it a Whirl.
