This special collection includes studio recordings and some very memorable moments from the group’s stage performances. The Howard Morrison Quartet are a special part of our musical history and will always be remembered as the first superstars of entertainment in New Zealand. Appealing to mums and dads and cashing in with huge hits like George The Wild (er) Boy, and My Old Man’s An All Black (extremely topical because of the huge controversy over Maori not being able to tour South Africa with the All Blacks). The group finally split in 1964 following a huge farewell tour, but Howard moved onto a most successful solo career and was awarded Entertainer Of The Year in 1966.
